Asset Management, Change Control, Customer Support, AdventNet ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus ROCKS!

READ UPDATE BEFORE DOWNLOADING THIS SOFTWARE!

Want a software system that does your asset management, your change control, your service level control, your customer support, your technical staff work sheets and cost controls?  Ok, I can go on and on like this, sorta inventing terms as I go along, but as someone who for years now have tried to find that magic piece of software or combination software that could marry the demands of operations with the delicate balances technical requires along with something that combines all that to give customer service just what they need when they need it.  And I think I found it!

AdventNet ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus rocks, and I mean ROCKS!   If you do not know what this is, make a bee line to www.manageengine.com and select their Manage Engine series of software.  These products are well thought out and serves companies with technical support issues extremely well when it comes to asset management, customer service and audited repair processes, with any amount of request types from change requests to technical support request to whatever your business needs in their search for that perfect mix of quick customer responses and perfectly balanced solutions.

Well Zoho, as AdventNet is now called, please take a bow!  Your solutions are amazing and should be rewarded by the industry as brilliant!

As soon as I have completed the setup that takes a few days, as it’s that comprehensive, I will write a proper guide right here.  If you cannot wait for that, don’t worry, as Zoho has a fantastic wizard process that helps you through everything.

UPDATE: Since Zoho’s takeover of AdventNet, the following situation has come about – on my recommendation a business in South Africa started evaluating the $1,699 (approx ZAR13,592.00) enterprise edition in its most basic setup in December 2008. With their pilot program now coming to an end and wanting to prepare their administration and software for their own official go-live date, they attempted to purchase ServiceDesk from Zoho’s site (quote request). A South African agent returned their request with an attached quote of over ZAR360,000 (or US$45,000 at ZAR8:US$1) for the product, a disproportionate escalation in price that ends my support of this product right here. UNTIL I CAN GET PROPER CLARIFICATION TO THIS RIPOFF, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS POST AS A RECOMMENDATION OF SERVICEDESK AT ALL.
