ABSA Entrepreneur of the Year Award

One of my favorite people in technology, Robert Sussman, was just awarded the ABSA Entrepreneur of the Year award.  I have been late in reporting this on my own blog, but it deserves mention here.  I have known Rob for some time now and over the years have come to appreciate just how good a technologist and business person he has become.  I remember a young MCSE years ago in Bhekisiswe Computers (a Thebe company), where we first met, in a time of great Internet excitement with both Netscape and Microsoft launching product after product of bleeding edge technology on the back of the Internet Browser, and even then Rob was always on the lookout for the next big thing, with Microsoft being the dominant driving force behind his search for knowledge.  It was a honor to see him grow into a market force in the beginning years of Integr8, and now seeing how much this company has grown to becoming the largest unlisted ICT company in South Africa.

One of the secrets of Rob’s success from my limited view of his business operations must be the team of people he surrounds himself with, from Lance Faranoff, his primary business partner, to the fantastic senior management team that runs the companies within the group so effectively.  This combination of personal genius and a great team leads to market recognition as with the ABSA entrepreneur of the year award.

Well done, Rob, you are a worthy recipient of this award!
